Design and development of an autonomous flight system - Implementation and optimization of deep learning

position and MISSION

We are looking for an Autonomous Drone Motion Planning Software Engineer with a passion for innovation and a desire to participate in the development of groundbreaking technology. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of an autonomous flight system, you will play a key role in the implementation and optimization of deep learning based machine learning models, focusing on different methods of trajectory planning, optimization and efficient processor management, you will be part of the introduction of autonomous and intelligent concepts and solutions in the context of wind turbine blade inspection by drone.

  • Design and develop autonomous systems for wind turbine inspection and diagnosis using drones: implement reinforcement learning and deep learning models for real-time trajectory planning in a rapidly changing environment. 
  • Collect, pre-process and analyze data needed to create and train AI models.
  • Optimize existing AI models to improve their performance and efficiency, taking into account constraints related to processor management and optimization and introducing the notion of parallelism to realize real-time applications.
  • Develop control, perception and planning algorithms to enable accurate and efficient autonomous operations.
  • Perform extensive testing, analysis, and tuning to ensure the performance and reliability of intelligent and autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate AI models into existing systems and products, considering path planning, optimization, and processor management aspects.
  • Conduct technology intelligence on the latest advances in AI, deep learning, path planning, optimization and processor management.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
  • Previous industrial experience in deploying robots/autonomous vehicles in production is an optional qualification.
  • Analyze measurements and environmental uncertainty and develop algorithms that adapt effectively to noisy data.
  • Strong experience in numerical optimization and designing highly optimized real-time software.
  • In-depth knowledge of reinforcement learning techniques, trajectory planning, optimization, and processor management.
  • Proficiency in modern C++ software development (14/11/17) in a Linux environment.
  • Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Knowledge of Python and practical understanding of developing and implementing deep learning models, including the use of frameworks such as PyTorch, is a plus.

Note that knowledge of drones is an optional qualification but would be considered an additional asset for this position. This includes familiarity with drone technologies, including sensors, navigation, flight controllers, and software. Specific knowledge of DJI drones, including operation and programming, is also a optional required.
